Course Objectives

The course aims to fulfil the following pedagogical objectives:

This one day course focuses on reviewing the concept of the Fuel Tank Safety and Electrical Wiring Interconnection System issues.

The course is intended to provide a review of the background and elements requiring consideration as it relates to fuel tank safety system and EWIS.

The objective of the course is to develop or update the level of knowledge and practical understanding of the participants in Fuel Tank Safety System issues, such as ignition sources and ignition prevention.

This one-day training course provides an update on the development and implementation of the flammability reduction requirements and nitrogen generating System.

Course Curriculum

  • Review of the background and elements requiring consideration in relation to fuel system safety and EWIS.
  • Review of the elements of Fuel Tank System Safety Issues
  • Definition of high and low flammability fuel tanks
  • Recap how the above items affect the aircraft in the scope of the activity of the organisation or in the fleet.
  • Review of the MRB Process and development of the Enhanced Zonal Analysis Procedure (EZAP)
  • Review on how to locate and retrieve information from the ESWPM
  • Review of the EWIS Standards for Installation, Repair, Modification
  • Review of the Inspection Standards and basic Safety Precautions
  • Current regulatory requirements with regards to flammability reduction and nitrogen generating system

Pre-requisites

Part 145 certifying staff and support staff who have previously undertaken an initial course in Fuel Tank Safety and EWIS.

Part CAMO personnel who have previously undertaken an initial course in Fuel Tank Safety and EWIS.
