The aim of this course is to introduce the EASA Certification Specifications in theory and as well with a practical approach on Cabin Safety.

Course Objectives

The course aims to fulfil the following pedagogical objectives:

  • to educate and train the candidate about the key elements to consider in CS-25 for the cabin safety, emergency evacuation fire protection and flammability.
  • to enable the trainee to identify the non-compliance, non-safety item and allows to classify the cabin modification and justify the showing of compliance.
  • gives overview about emergency evacuation, theoretical approach to show MOCs and learn key elements on safety objectives.

Gives understanding about fire protection and flammability in cabin refurbishment, modification and consideration in MED.

Course Curriculum

  • CS-25 objectives in terms of Cabin safety
  • Understanding the requirement in terms of cabin / passenger safety versus cabin / passenger comfort.
  • Focus on emergency evacuation procedures, safety implication and theoretical approach for MOC
  • Cabin fire protection, flammability and methods to show and comply with CS-25.

Discussion on subjective topics relates to cabin safety in refurbishment classification, flammability testing and equivalent methods.

Suitable For

Part 21J (DOA) Office of Airworthiness, Cabin Safety Compliance Verification Engineer, Cabin interior design engineer, and any individual involved in certification of Cabin modification, refurbishment, interior configuration change in large aircraft.

Alternate Part 21J (ADOA) applicants who involve in design & modification of cabin interior, refurbishment and interior change and its certification process.

Part 21 G (POA) quality manager, production manager, Flammability Compliance Verification Engineer, authorized signature holders or any individual involved in production of the cabin items & testing.

Part 145 large aircraft inspectors, certifying staff and continued airworthiness managers involved in cabin safety, maintenance, operation and instruction for continued airworthiness.

Any individual, consultants or organizations that involve in minor/major (STC) modification and / or repair in large aeroplane in terms of cabin re-configuration & modification.

CS 25 Module 1 Training

Complication with EASA Regulation of

  • EASA, Certification Specifications and Acceptable Means of Compliance for Large Aeroplanes CS-25, latest amendment.
  • EASA CM – CS – 004 Issue: 01, dated 2013 “Flammability Testing of Interior Materials”
  • FAA AC 25-17A, Transport Airplane Cabin Interior Crashworthiness Handbook, dated 2009.
