Skilled Engineer Course is an approved course allowing participants to get the basic knowledge and the practical experience knoweldge as required for starting to work into any MRO (Part-145) as “skilled engineer” and getting an EASA Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) for category A (line maintenance) or for category B (base maintenance).
AML, issued according to Annex III (Part-66) of the Regulation (EU) No. 1321/2014, is the document that certifies the knowledge and experience requirements of the owner applicable to the specific categories and subcategories indicated in the license.
Skilled Engineer Course give indeed a discount, in terms of practical experience requirements, up to 2 years. It means after this course the “skilled engineer” can apply for Category A license after 1 year of working experience (standard is 2 years) and then can apply for Category B license after 2 years working experience as cat. A certified technician (standard is 5 years).
This course gives the opportunity to start to work into an MRO (Part-145) after a shorter training period, if compared with the Basic Integrated Course (2400 hours), and getting the AML without any additional training or examination (only acquiring the required working experience into a MRO/Part-145).

Option A – Full Package (seminars, examinations and practical training)
Seminars and examinations are conducted within a period of about 2 months (200 hours). Practical training is performed after seminars and examinations period and it is about 600 hours (30% into a MRO – Part-145).
Option B – Examinations + Practical Training
Examinations sessions are available every month. Trainee can manage it according to his/her availability. Practical training is about 6oo hours (30% into a MRO – Part-145).
Option C – Practical Training only
Practical training is about 6oo hours (30% into a MRO – Part-145).
Theoretical training
Examination, for each module as for category and sub-category, is made by Multi Choice Questions (MCQ) and/or Essay Question(s) (EQ). The minimum positive examination result is 75 % as for EASA regulations.
Practical training
A practical assessment is performed at the end of the practical training.
Duration depends on training options.
Option A – Full Package (seminars, examinations and practical training)
It is about 800 hours. 200 hours for seminars & examinations and about 600 hours for practical training.
Option B – Examinations + Practical Training
Examinations (according to category and sub-category) can be performed by 1 months. Timing depends on knowledge of participants.
Option C – Practical Training only
